I've always wanted to turn a picture into music!" - said the Italian composer Ivan Fedele, as soon as he saw the attention-grabbing paintings of Kazi Varnelis. The composer dedicated his new piece to this Lithuanian painter, a representative of optical art who has not yet been discovered by everyone, who lived most of his life in the USA and became famous there - for his work and art philosophy. His music will resound in Vilnius in the house-museum of Kazis Varnelis - an art labyrinth full of secrets. Ivan Fedele - who even headed the music section of the Venice Biennale for two terms - combines long-standing traditions with modern musical language and modern technologies in his activities and creations. Therefore, in Vilnius we will also hear a piece for piano with live electronics, which will be performed by Alvise Vidolin. The world premiere of the work will be accompanied by special tours of the unique cultural space and other events. The composer's work will be presented on a larger scale by the network of Lithuanian ensembles in a portrait concert at the Vilnius Town Hall.
