in 2023 August 10 at 7 p.m. For the second year in a row, the cultural festival "Purple Evening" will welcome the capital city with an opening concert.
A week before the start of the festival, two talented and two very different creators will invite you to listen to musical stories on the "Upės terasje" under the August sky. On stage we will see singing actors famous for their great sense of humor - Aidas Giniotis and Vladas Bagdonas, who will be supported by composer Audrius Balsys. Both performers will be invited to return to Anykščias for the 16th time and meet at the cultural festival "Purpurinis vakaras" on August 17-19.
The concert will be opened by director, actor, songwriter, pedagogue Aidas Giniotis, who considers himself a music lover since childhood. However, the nature of work meant that more often working time and part of free time have to be devoted to literature. Having staged many unforgettable performances for children and adults at "Keistuolii teatre", "Atvirame rate", the State Theater of Šiauliai Drama and other Lithuanian theaters, he is rightly considered a connoisseur of commedia dell'arte and a master of comedic genres. That is why there is no shortage of playfulness, irony, and improvisation in his musical creations, and the audience willy-nilly gets involved in the performance.
In the second part of the concert, the laureate of the National Culture and Art Award, singing actor Vladas Bagdon will take the stage. The audience will be treated to an unexpected duet on stage: the maestro will be joined by the composer, pianist Audrius Balsys, and together they will present the "Bagdonian songs" program. It will feature both old, fan-favorite and completely new songs, expertly decorated with arrangements by composer A. Balsis.
A cozy evening full of good emotions and stories awaits everyone who visited the "Upės terasja" at the opening concert of the cultural festival "Purple Evening".
