A unique live concert "The Magical LION KING and His World" of incredible beauty, which has no age limits - is intended for adults and families. The music is very strong and inspiring, and the concert will be performed by a collective of fourteen artists and musicians, led by the charismatic actress and singer ONEIDA KUNSUNGA, the talented actor SIMONAS STORPIRŠTIS and the charming musical actor and singer DAIVIS NORVILAS. The emotional atmosphere of the concert will also be created by the gospel-style choir "Vilnius Voices", a live band and violinist Ieva Makauskaitė. Exclusive lighting design and scenography are created especially for these performances, and exclusive arrangements are being created for the concert, which will feature songs from the cartoon, Broadway musical and the latest Lion King movie. The story will take viewers to the African savannas and the well-known world of the lion Simba.
For 27 years, Oscar-winning film music legend Hans Zimmer's soundtrack has shaped the global hit The Lion King, combining African rhythms and sounds with monumental, epic melodies. The story is complemented by Sir Elton John's timeless compositions Hakuna Matata, Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight, and the duo of these two musical geniuses creates a unique, inspiring experience for listeners of all ages.
Actor Simon Storpiristis still remembers his first encounter with the story of the Lion King, although it happened almost twenty years ago.
"In 1994, my older brother brought a VHS tape from a video rental and showed me "The Lion King", who at that time had only seen Russian animation on television. I remember that the rental period was only one day, so I tried to watch the video as many times as possible. This story, the music, the songs and the characters really stuck with me, and the scene where the buffalo herd tramples Simba's father is still moving to this day," says Simon.
In the house of singer and actress Oneida Kunsunga, the songs from the movie "The Lion King" played practically non-stop at one time - Oneida also introduced her then three-year-old daughter Gilė to the music she loved since childhood, who liked it immensely.
"I am an absolute fan of "The Lion King", everyone in the family admires this music. In 2019, when the new "Lion King" movie came out, I was invited to sing "Circle of Life" in the Lithuanian-dubbed movie. How I rejoiced! It seemed as if I had returned to my childhood and fulfilled my dream at the same time, - says the singer. - I strongly invite you to see the live concerts of "The Lion King". There is no age limit in them, everyone will find something to learn from this story, and the beauty of music will rise above everyday life and give us the best emotions."
