What else is it about but the love of humming quietly on a Friday night? In Juodkrantė's summer outdoor amphitheater - an ode to a woman and her world. The songs of the French legend Etith Piaf, the captivating voice of Evelina Sašenko, the music performed by the piano and the Klaipėda Chamber Orchestra will create a lively, pulsating festival of feelings on this side of the lagoon.
The French called her the singer of the century, but her musical career and personal life are still surrounded by legends and marked by painful events. A difficult childhood, war, the death of a loved one, and unrelenting grief, soothed by life-destroying "medicines." The invisible shadows of life hanging in the light of the ramps and the unfading popularity of Edith Piaf, the unique timbre of her voice attract like a magnet, even sixty years after the singer's death.
Singer Evelina Sašenko's musical acquaintance with the French language and Edith Piaf's songs began at school, continued in "Dainų Daineleje", and in recent years, Evelina and Edith Piaf's songs have become a sign of the quality of French "chanson".
"I feel infinite gratitude to this woman," says Evelina, adding that she puts her own life experience into Edith Piaf's songs.
That evening, Juodkrantė's embankment will be illuminated by a delay. This landscape will crown the closing concert of the festival, if the midsummer clouds do not deprive us of such pleasure.
