L. Mozart. "Children's Symphony"
Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra together with actor Andrius Bialobžeskis and conductor Egidijus Kaveckas invites you to take an enchanting journey through the mysterious world of symphonic music. The concert will begin with one of the finest works of this genre, "A Young Listener's Guide to the Symphony Orchestra" by British composer Benjamin Britten (1913-1976). It is a lively work, full of colour and joy, in which a single musical theme reveals the colours, range and qualities of different groups of symphony orchestral instruments.
After getting acquainted with the characteristics of the symphony orchestra's instruments, we will invite you to listen to the legendary Austrian composer, the king of waltzes, Johann Strauss (1825-1899), who was known as the King of the Waltzes, and his cheerful, charming compositions, full of spirit and with an atmosphere of true celebration. This will be followed by the "Children's Symphony" by the German composer Leopold Mozart (1719-1787), father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, an intriguing work in which the chamber orchestra is gradually supplemented by new children's instruments.
Dr. Egidijus Kaveckas, one of the brightest conductors of the younger generation in Lithuania, will be conducting the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra in this lively afternoon concert.
The concert is recommended for children between 5-12 years old.
