Anželika Cholina Dance Theater invites its most loyal fans to its latest performance "Queen of Spades", created based on A. Pushkin's short story.
"Lady of Spades" is the most mysterious and mystical work of Alexander Pushkin. Original directorial decisions and dance language full of emotions give the treatment of Anželika Cholina's performance even more drama and tension. The destinies of the characters are creatively created in the play, and German's story unfolds to the audience from a completely unexpected angle - the Queen of Spades becomes not only a fateful card in his fate...
The countess is a mystical character in the performance. She is both German's victim and the force with which German plays, in the beginning creating his game strategy, and in the end becoming a victim of his own game.
False hopes, thoughts of easy success, thirst for personal happiness, thickening the role of chance in the game and relying on it - have made gambling the most dangerous activity for generations.
"Passion for gambling is the strongest of passions..." - said A. Pushkin.
The performance was created to celebrate the 20th anniversary of ballet soloist Beata Molytė's creative activity.
The tour of the play in Lithuania is supported by the Lithuanian Council of Culture.
