They stock their shelves with lemon-coloured shoes, felt hats and bright red socks. They wrap printed silk in rolls, because the English yellow silk is too poor for the nobility. They lift barrel lids and wrinkle their noses when they feel that the herring has arrived fresh again. They are merchants - the old businessmen of Vilnius, looking for commercial happiness, but not only that.
On this tour we will walk through the most commercial places in Vilnius.
We will find out about the business dealings between Konrad the merchant and Barbora Radvilaitė. Which merchant managed to make a big business out of rotten rags,
and which merchant perished in the flames because of his deceits. There will be spicy love stories, some with a hint of crime. We will find places that once smelled of grain, wax and wood, and still smell of leather today. At the end, we'll celebrate lucrative deals with a tavern for magarites. Simply put, it's a tour with a lot of noise, passion and risk.
