One could go on and on writing about her son, Sir Elton John. His career spans more than five decades, during which time Elton has released more than 30 albums and sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling and most successful solo musicians of all time!
It may be hard to believe, but he has more than 50 Top 40 UK singles and Billboard Hot 100 hits to his name, including nine UK number ones and nine US number ones, as well as seven consecutive number one albums in the US and a further seven of his albums hitting number one on the Billboard 200.
His single "Candle in the Wind" in honour of Diana, Princess of Wales, has sold more than 33 million copies worldwide and is the best-selling single in the history of the UK and US charts!
John's many accolades include an Emmy Award, five Grammys, two Oscars and a Tony Award. Elton has also won two Golden Globe Awards, five Brit Awards, a Disney Legends Award and a Kennedy Center Honor.
In 2004, he was ranked #49 on Rolling Stone's list of the best performers. In 2013, Billboard magazine named him the most successful solo artist of all time on the Billboard Hot 100 and third overall behind The Beatles and Madonna!
