"Unlearned Lessons is a performance-concert, which is particularly colourful and accentuated by the synthesis of theatre and indie rock music, based on the inspiring play of the same name by Alexander Shpilevich.
Four actors, five musicians and twelve musical-textual compositions that merge into one story, encouraging the performers and the audience to start learning anew what we were somehow not taught in school - where we were supposed to be prepared for life and to learn the essentials more important than solving equations of trigonometry, running long and short distances, and coining historical dates... But the characters in Unlearned Lessons are not drowning in accusations against the school or the generation that taught them. Trapped in a never-ending rush, in their own ambitions, fears, and ingrained beliefs, the characters of the play briefly return to the eighth grade in search of themselves. However, don't be fooled, this play is not only for schoolchildren, "Unlearned Lessons" is primarily aimed at people who are questioning their environment and their decisions.
"Unlearned Lessons is a play by Alexander Shpilevoy that returns to the playwright and director's homeland. Although it is not a documentary, the work is an expression of the memories and feelings of a student who once walked the corridors of a school.
"We really wanted to create a play that would be interesting not only for theatre-goers who are not sworn theatregoers, but also for those who go to the theatre even less often than they go to church. And I'm sure we have succeeded very well, because "Unlearned Lessons" is the truest contemporary theatre, but at the same time it is a live concert by the Colours of Bubbles. So we won't be teaching, but enjoying this musical event with you. "The author of the play and the director of the performance, Alexander Shpilevoy, invites the audience to a conversation with himself.
The performance is part of the Arts Printing House's programme "Open Space'16".
