For the first time, the "Operetė in Kaunas pilije" festival is taking the initiative to culturally implement a new space on Nemunas Island.
August 23 A special concert program will be played on the roof of the science popularization center "Mokslo Sala" to commemorate the anniversary of the Baltic Way. The 650 km long living chain of people through Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia is one of the most unique historical events.
The uniqueness of the Baltic Way was also emphasized by the UNESCO organization, in 2009. by including this millionth action of expression of people's desire for freedom in the "Memory of the World" list.
The space of Nemunas Island offers excellent conditions to celebrate with music a unique event - the unity of the Baltic nations in the fight for freedom, which surprised the world.
The lively artistic program of the concert is prepared and will be performed by:
Kaunas Big Band (conductor Tomas Botyrius)
Soloists: Povilas Meškėla, Jeronimas Milius, Julija Zakirova (Latvia), Sofia Rubina (Estonia)
