The album "In love with a ghost" is like a diary of the most secret feelings, experiences, removing all masks, expressing all, even the most uncomfortable feelings: love during quarantine ("Maybe...", Stockholm syndrome, after the end of quarantine ("As if I'm dreaming"), addictions understanding feelings ("You are my alcohol"), uncovering the truth ("In love with a ghost"), walking the true path ("As if you didn't exist")
"I could divide my work into two stages: pre-quarantine and post-quarantine," says well-known singer Rasa Kaušiūtė.
"I am one of those people who happily accepted the restrictions imposed by the quarantine, and I worked at full capacity in the creative field. I am very grateful for this quarantine "retreat", this period was a "golden age" for me, during which I filmed my first clip, then the second, the third... I am very grateful to my wonderful companion, photo and video author, Italian video operator Stefano Ruffini, who was happy to delve into my ideas, dictated by the experience of personal relationships and the influence of natural phenomena.
It was during the quarantine that the idea of releasing an acoustic album for music connoisseurs, in which only the voice and double bass would sound, which would sound intimate, minimalist and mystical, finally crystallized - the sound that "transports" me the most at the moment. Without all that unnecessary external "noise".
The original idea of the album is best revealed by the track "In love with a ghost", which contains only voice, contrabass and "horror effects".
Later, guitar, percussion, and piano appeared in the instrumentation, and finally, cello and...harp.
One of the oldest and most magnificent instruments - the harp will accompany the works enriched with pure energy - "Underground Rivers" and "Evening".
I don't stop myself at all in the creation of the album, and if I had to describe my current work in one word, I would describe it as follows: "fairy songs" in which the inspiration of nature is very important (forest, water, full moon, etc.) in which depth and meditativeness are felt, and sometimes long trance improvisations . In the theme of the songs, all discoveries, sometimes very global ones ("As if I'm dreaming") go through the prism of personal relationships with another person, including the search for one's own way ("As if you were not there") and painful discoveries ("You are my alcohol"). , and self-irony ("Lies"), and the importance of life in the present realized during the quarantine ("Maybe..."), and many other perceptions.
It's like writing your intimate, most secret feelings diary... And reading it in public (concert).
It's like deep musical therapy for feelings...
If someone were to ask what makes the current singer Rasa Kaušiūtė different from the previous one, I would answer that now there is less desire to please, to please others, less adaptation, more honesty to yourself and your work, more purity..."
