Garden Gaia was performed at the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig and at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt in Berlin last November. The premiere was attended by a choir alongside other performers, the scenography was created by the "Something Fantastic" architectural collective, video artist Natalia Stuyk and fashion designer Andra Dumitrascu also contributed. The title of the album is related to the ancient goddess Gaia, personifying the Earth. In its introduction, Pantha du Prince quotes Mahatma Gandhi: “We only reflect the world. All the tendencies that exist in the external world can be found in our bodies. If we could change ourselves, the trends of the world would also change. If a person changes his nature, the world changes in relation to him. This is the highest divine mystery. It's a wonderful thing and a source of our happiness.” While creating the Garden Gaia soundtracks, Pantha du Prince worked closely with other musicians. He sent the material he created to friends all over the world, with a very open attitude: "I wanted to move away from the authoritarian position of 'I know what's best' and let things take their own course, grow like a garden." If we are attentive to others, their energy can flow into your creation. The result is a different nature of art and music."
