Two worlds: classics and the art of improvisation. Two bright personalities from different worlds create a new alloy by playing and provoking. New music is born - unique and unexpectedly organic.
The evening program will be performed by musicians who have been collaborating on stage since 2016: the legendary Lithuanian saxophonist, winner of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize Petras Vyšniauskas and the internationally recognized Lithuanian pianist Aleksandra Žvirblytė. The duo has presented many unique projects, which were played with great success in various concert halls in Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Germany, Spain, France, the United Kingdom and broadcast on LRT.
"Petros Vyšniauskas' concert with pianist Aleksandra Žvirblyta was enchanting. The idea is simply incredible. The effect is breathtaking, not only because Peter takes endless risks, but also because the music is so delicate and intense that tears start to build up involuntarily. An unforgettable concert...” Emmanuel de Gouvello, France
"Lithuanian soprano saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas is, in my opinion, one of the most original musicians focusing on this instrument - his bright phrases expand with decisive original intervals, and his sound is powerful - stronger and more precise than Sam Rivers, denser and more concentrated than Steve Lacy , maybe even polyphonic like Evan Parker. ” Howard Mandel, New York, USA
"Aleksandra Žvirblytė freely creates a sensual musical picture right here on stage. Her playing is not only technically perfect, but also spiritually rich, great technique becomes only a means to express a unique perception of music." Steen Sogaard "Morgenavisen Jyllandspoeten, Denmark
