Drum megastars Kodo will unleash their primal power in the only performance in the Baltics.
Kodo's most spectacular taiko drumming performance in the Baltics will take place on 27 March 2024 at ASG Arena in Vilnius. The bearers of the ancient Japanese drumming tradition will perform a brand new programme, Warabe (Primordial Force), which will take the audience back to the very beginning, to the origins of humanity.
Kodo, a unique gem of world culture, will celebrate its 43rd year in 2024. The group's home is on Sado Island, Japan, where the taiko drums have been taught to be played from generation to generation since time immemorial. Both teachers and students are totally dedicated and usually only leave their home island to perform.
Along with an unforgettable performance of drums of all sizes, Kodo presents a spectacular theatrical show of music and dance. With this new programme, Kodo returns to the roots of its classic repertoire - exotic, masculine and thoroughly Japanese performances. Although the themes of the individual parts of the show vary, they all equally require rhythm and synchronisation skills.
Since the beginning of its international career in 1981, Kodo has performed more than 6,500 concerts on all five continents. The band's name means heartbeat - the basis of all musical rhythms.
Exclusive opportunity - for the first three days only (14 -17 December), tickets for Kodo's Taiko Drum Show are available for 50% off at Bilietai.lt
