The Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra is celebrating its 45th anniversary as an orchestra and is the official orchestra of Vienna. Every year, on January 1, the Vienna Strauss Orchestra opens the New Year with the unique music of J. Strauss in the most famous Vienna concert hall - the Wiener Konzerthaus.

The orchestra has been led by its founder, Peter Guth, who is one of the world's leading experts in the music of Johann Strauss. Although he performs all over the world, an unbroken thread connects this artist to the Austrian capital - the city of Vienna awarded Peter Guth a golden badge for his services to Austrian culture.

Over the course of five decades, the Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra has gained international recognition for its original interpretation of Viennese music, a wide repertoire of works, and the performance of works by the masters of the Strauss dynasty and Viennese operetta. The Vienna Strauss Festival Orchestra is undoubtedly one of the brightest leaders of this genre of orchestras on world stages

The leader and conductor of the Vienna J. Strauss Orchestra, who has won prizes in several international competitions, has collaborated with the San Francisco, London Royal Philharmonic and other world-renowned orchestras. The New Year's concerts "Salute to Vienna" prepared by him were held in the prestigious Tokyo Suntory and New York Lincoln Center halls. Since 1992 Peter Guth has been directing the Vienna Operetta Festival in Japan since 1995. directs productions of J.
