Speaking about the new dance performance "Youth", A. Cholina emphasizes: "I have always been interested in getting closer to the truth about life, exploring various forms of relationships between people. Of course, it is impossible to cover all vicissitudes experienced in families in one play, so my goal was to touch on essential situations, which I looked at not only through the prism of my personal experiences in childhood, but also based on the analysis of psychologists.
The play intertwines fragments of the lives of six different families, where the worlds of children and adults collide. This is a story about children who are in real physical youth, surrounded by complexes, fears, anxieties, phobias and parents stuck in "eternal youth" who do not hear or see their children, create traumatic experiences for them and code to be problematic...
With this work of mine, I want to encourage adults to look at children as equal personalities, teachers, to hear them and to see in them the uniqueness they bring.
The dance performance "Youth" is a mixture of drama and comedy told in the language of dance, reflecting the realities of today's family life, accompanied by the powerful music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
This is a kind of art therapy session, where there will be both laughter and tears, just like in real life, so I invite you to come to the performance with teenagers. I hope that the behavior patterns of families seen from the side will make everyone think and inspire change..."
