After the debut performance in 2021 at the prestigious Pordenone Festival in Italy, the duet of violinist Dalia Dėdinskaitė and cellist Gleb Pyšniak received the highest ratings and an invitation to the 2022 to present the musical culture of their country with a major project. One of the most famous Lithuanian choirs "Jauna muzika" and its artistic director Vaclovas Augustinas accepted the duo's invitation to jointly prepare and perform a program of sacred music by composers from the Baltic countries, called "Baltic prayer". This year, in the face of ongoing war and on a special day - the Day of Mourning and Hope - this unique program aims to give meaning and broadcast the unity and strength of the Baltic countries, support for Ukraine and its people. Therefore, next to the most prominent Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian composers, the famous "Melody" by Myroslav Skoryk (version prepared by the performers for violin, cello and choir), dedicated to the Ukrainian nation, sounds symbolically. Listeners can also enjoy the world-renowned Norwegian composer Ola Gjeil's opus - one of the most popular choral works "Serenity" (O Magnum Mysterium) with a Latin text for choir and violin, conveying the symphonic depth and richness of thought.
The audience of the Vilnius festival will also have the opportunity to hear for the first time in Lithuania the works that have already been heard in Italy, written especially for the project - "Ave Maria" by Jurgis Juozapaitis and "L'urlo del figlio" by the Italian author Marianna Acito.
