This exhibition is the second part of the Costume & Contemplation fashion research series, which brings together fashion design researchers, lecturers from Lithuania and abroad to present fashion works. The exhibition reflects on the relationship of the individual to transcendent reality. An engaging narrative brings together faith-related stories, events or religious experiences that have influenced and/or shaped the worldview and work of fashion designers. The exhibition does not seek to rethink the notion of religion as a necessary pillar of life, but rather to reveal how many different faith experiences each artist holds within him or her. The fashion objects created especially for this exhibition reflect the artist's personal relationship between the sacred and the profane, suggestive experiences that are difficult to define in words alone. The works are accompanied by texts revealing the focus of the authors' research. The exhibition will be on view at the VAA exhibition halls TITANIKAS (Maironio g. 3, Vilnius) until 8 February.
