In this performance-comedy, emigrants will be angry, reconcile, eat, wash and have fun - as happened in many European apartments during the quarantine. An intellectual thinker and a black worker or a Vilnius hipster and a construction worker in London.
After S. Mrožek's play is translated like a sleeve, after the author's emigrants are brought back to their homeland, we would say: hello, brothers, for 30 years we have been watching the decreasing number of the population, the aging population, the loss of a million people. Now is the chance... However, the public's reaction is the opposite: fear, mistrust, hatred. The creative team looks at the countrymen who have nowhere to help their big, unwashed hands from a different angle. The director relies on close family experience: all, without exception, his thirteen cousins work in construction in Germany, Ireland, England, Iceland, Sweden, and Spain.
Emigrants (dir. Darius Gumauskas, starring: Giedrius Savickas and Marius Čižauskas) based on the play of the same name by Slavomir Mrožek was created in the main program of the International Theater Festival SIRENOS in 2020. in autumn
