Travelling and wandering are ways to breathe, create and learn about your surroundings and the world. Through them, I discover the everyday details, souvenirs, memories of the Vilnius I live in and the other cities I visit, catching the wind and the joys. I explore Vilnius on foot, on trolleybuses, on buses. I leave the city by train, by car, and I try to convey all these experiences in my exhibition. The wind has been with me since I was a child - I was born by the sea, so I enjoy it in other places as well. wandering and wind are connected by the English words "wander" and "wind". the word "wander" is derived from "wendh", which means to turn, to turn, wind. Wind has two meanings in English - one is about a tilt, a turn, and the other is about the movement of air masses. in the exhibition, these two meanings are intertwined. sometimes, when I am travelling with the wind, I change directions, exploring the differences between predictions and actual experience. I invite you to look at each of the installations in the three different rooms of the exhibition as separate mediums, as segments that tell the story of a different journey. The Artifex Gallery (Gaono g. 1, Vilnius) will be open until 7 February.
