The unique program dedicated to the 180th anniversary of Edvard Grieg's birth will include diverse, but well-known and heard works of the Norwegian composer. The first part will feature arrangements of "Peer Gynt" by legendary jazz masters Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. The content of the second part was prepared by a team of Lithuanian jazz musicians gathered by composer, trombonist and arranger Jievaras Jasninskis. The program will feature jazz compositions by E. Grieg, which grew out of fragments of piano lyrical plays, songs or orchestral pieces we know.
Thanks to improvisations and jazz, we will experience the layers of E. Grieg's music in a new way, which will appear before us like unknown and newly discovered fjords.
