The series of photographs "Vilnius Dreams" is an attempt to discover the spirit of this extraordinary metropolis in the streets of contemporary Vilnius, in the brickwork or wooden houses already marked by the weight of the years, and to discern at least a small part of the stories of its glorious past. Not just the ones told in textbooks and researched by eminent historians. After all, many of the most interesting, sensitive and breathtaking things have remained unrecorded, sinking into deep oblivion, going to a fairy-tale paradise of would-have-beens, or simply getting lost somewhere in Europe. However, their almost intoxicating whiff can still be felt when wandering through the narrow streets of the Old Town, looking at the reflections in the puddles that resemble unreal, mysterious worlds, watching the enchanting dance of the sun's rays on the reddish roofs of the Old Town and the towers of the churches, watching the mystical caravans of clouds drifting through the sky, listening to the rustling of the city's trees, as if they were the dreams of the majestic city of Vilnius that are filled with gentle nostalgia. The Pylimo Gallery (Pylimo g. 30, Vilnius) will be open in February.
