City by the sea. Those who stay on the shore live here. Here come back those who were at sea. From here it is sent to the sea. Here, the constant movement of people and water creates drafts that blow through heads and hearts. The feelings and thoughts released from them are spread in the streets by dancing.
This play is about a city by the river, split in half by Dangė, a piece of heaven that has come down to earth. Klaipėda is divided into old and new, employers and workers, fighters for survival and winners without a fight. This play is also about a city by the port, rumbling with railways and screeching cranes. About a city without historical memory and with one of the richest stories of urban life in Lithuania. About the city of jazz, theater, beauty salons, reconstructions, secret affairs, tests, memories, strange people, dancing bags, families, many peoples. About empty streets and descriptions of a city where there is no room for people. This is a play about people who are here by chance or by choice. About those whose faces show that they are from Klaipėda, and those who came here for a short time and stayed.
"Sea lights" is the third documentary performance by film and theater director Jonas Tertelis, in which the creator tells the subjective, emotional, often painful history of urban communities.
