This evening's guest artist is the winner of more than 20 International Competitions, MARISA SARDO, a classical guitarist who actively performs all over the world. She is hailed as one of today's most exciting young artists and a must-hear live performer.
Sardas biography includes 1st prize wins in international music competitions such as New York Laureates, Twisted Spruce, Grand Prize Virtuoso, and performances on 5 continents and in over 25 countries. She is renowned for her unique programs, performing music from Europe, Africa, South America, works written by women composers, her own compositions, and the world premieres of various works for guitar.
"Her artistry and passion for the music affects the audience, leaving a lasting impression that transcends time and genre" (Texas Guitar Society), "Marisa is an excellent musician with a very professional and easygoing personality. The result could not be better: very expressive music, precise performance and deep emotions" (Violao e Ponto Guitar Society) - these are just a few of the testimonials about Sardo's performances.
In addition to her concert activities, Sardo also teaches classical guitar and music theory. As she says herself, her main mission in classical guitar performance is to create a feminine perspective that allows all talented female guitarists to reveal their unique feminine sound.
In her latest concert programme, "When She Rules: feminine sounds", which will be performed at the Kaunas Philharmonic, she will present works by female composers of different nationalities.
With this performance, Sardo will undoubtedly reveal her unique approach to the world of contemporary classical guitar and classical music.
