We start the new concert season "Autumn with music" of the chamber hall "Polifonija" with a concert by the piano trio "Meta" and the choir "Polifonija".
Members of the piano trio "Meta": Marija Pranskutė (violin), Deividas Dumčius (cello) and Julija Bagdonavičiūtė (piano).
Since the establishment of the ensemble in 2018, the performers have been highly appreciated by music critics for their special harmony and deep sound. Already in the first year of making music together, the ensemble won 1st place at the 18th International Lithuanian Composers Chamber Music Performance Competition in Vilnius. In addition to the numerous international awards of the trio, all its members have accumulated not only extensive experience as chamber music performers, but also as soloists, having performed on various stages in Lithuania and other countries around the world. Young musicians strive to constantly improve and raise their qualifications in various courses and master classes with such recognized music masters as Pascal Devoyon, Daniel Garlitsky, David Gering, Kevin Kenner, Barbara Lüneburg.
The Šiauliai State Chamber Choir "Polifonija", which has been in existence for almost half a century, preserves traditions and opens up to new horizons. Having once resurrected old manor or religious music for live performance, the choir presents surprises more and more often, proving to be different - modern, full of new artistic solutions, which fits into today's context of choral music. The artistic director and chief conductor of the choir is Linas Balandis.
The piano trio "Meta" together with the choir "Polifonija" will perform "Geistliches Lied" by J. Brahms.
The program will also feature P. Vasks, G. Faure, A. Piazzolla, and A. Šiurys.
