We invite pupils in grades 1-4 to learn how to play the traditional Lithuanian folk instrument the kanklės.
This series of six classes is designed for primary school pupils who are curious to try instrumental music and experience the joy of making music with other children.
You will learn how to play simple pieces, which you will be able to improve at home. If you do not have your own instrument, we will lend you a can-can during the lesson.
The lessons are led by ethnomusicologist, pedagogue, folklore performer Goda Kovalenkienė. She has been playing the traditional music world since she was four years old, and has been playing the kankli for more than 30 years. For her, the cancan is a special sounding instrument that everyone can enjoy. Goda is happy to accompany her students along this beautiful path of friendship and to help them experience the joy of making music.
