September 1st, 1995 dawned warm and beautiful in Plungė. For the first class, I had a purple suit made for me, as was appropriate for the time. It may not be obvious in the photo, but the suit was so... on a outgrowth. I wore it all through the second and third grade.
After the celebration at the school, we went to the photo studio with my parents. The children were there to have their photos taken with pacifiers and gumdrops, but such props did not fit my image. My parents thought they were taking pictures of me to commemorate the first day of school, but I knew I was taking pictures for the poster of my first solo stand-up tour.
It took almost thirty years for this plan of mine to finally come to light. In January-February 2025, I will be touring the major cities of Lithuania with my new programme, THE TWENTY-YEAR-OLD CHILD. For the first time in my twelve years as a stand-up comedian, I will be alone. Ok, maybe not exactly one hundred percent alone - Mindaugas Laskovas will support me. When I think about it, this is the tour I needed to get the full package of experience.
When I look at seven year old Mantas today - I am proud of him. He was already very funny and knew how to talk. This THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD CHILD will be about life through my eyes and through that boy's eyes.
If I could go back thirty years, and say one short sentence to that child, I would say: "Don't worry, it will be all right. Although... Of course not! I'd say: buy bitcoins in 2010, old man!
