About a boy named Munchausen who learns to paint still lifes in an art class. The strict and demanding Teacher expects from him a realistic depiction of reality, and Munchausen and his friend Image always go further than reality can offer them. This is how new art forms are born in his works - modernism, surrealism, cubism. The teacher is, of course, angry and is convinced that Munchausen is a poor student. The boy, explaining how completely unrealistic images were born in his works, begins to tell all kinds of fictional adventures: about flying on a cannonball, about a cherry tree growing on a deer's head, about how he pulled himself out of the swamp by his hair, and other stories. The teacher calls Munchausen a liar and tries to bring him back to reality, but the boy insists that it is not a lie, but the work of his friend Imagination. He tries to instill this truth in his Teacher and invites him not to forget the powers of fantasy and imagination.
According to the author and director of the production - young generation artist Milda Mičiulytė, in the modern world every child is able to use various modern technologies, where everything is already created for him. In such everyday life, there is less and less space left for the development of children's imagination and creativity. Moreover, the fantasizing child is often supported by the lying child. However, what adults negatively call a lie is closely related to the unbridled imagination of children that never begins to spread, which is much deeper and defies the logic of adults. The director is convinced that creativity needs to be constantly trained and stimulated in order to prevent it from stifling in the most active period - childhood - and she follows this attitude in the performance.
