This exhibition is dedicated to the various events related to the Latvian music and art group NSRD (latv. "Nebijušu sajūtu restaurēšanas darbnīca" - "Restoration Workshop of Unfeeling Feelings"). NSRD was founded in 1982 by the poet, painter Juris Boiko and architectural theorist Hardijs Lediņš. Later they were joined by musicians Inguna Rubene (Černova) and Mārtiņš Rutkis, while architects Imants Žodžiks and Aigars Sparāns helped with various artistic projects, and many of the group's projects have involved an even wider range of participants. It is true that not all of the collaborative works of people close to the group can be attributed to NSRD. This exhibition explores various moments of creative exchange from the mid-1980s to 1989, linked by shared influences, ideas and a focus on new cultural forms.Despite the constraints of the Soviet era, these long-term collaborative projects explored the extreme avant-garde, the aesthetics of the New Wave and postmodernism. The exhibition presents a wide range of work, from the literature, poetry and music recordings that formed the basis of the NSRD's work in the mid-1980s, to New Wave music, actions, architectural proposals, post-modern design, discos, video performances and 'rough art' of the 1980s. It will run until 23 February 2025 at the Radvila Palace Museum of Art (Vilniaus g. 24, Vilnius).
