OPERA. (R)evolution
The concert is dedicated to the 210th anniversary of opera innovators Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner.
Both opera revolutionaries were born in the same year, 1813, and each followed different paths, but were guided by one goal - to transform the opera genre into a real theatrical phenomenon. At the concert, with the help of solo numbers and duets, key pieces, the individual character and philosophy of the creators will be revealed.
The stars of the scene - Kristina Zmalaitė and Edmundas Seilius, and Eleonora Taškinaitė, who will accompany them on the piano, will invite you to listen to wonderful music this evening. The program will include excerpts from operas created by Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner.
KRISTINA ZMAILAITĖ (soprano) Prof. of the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (LMTA). He completed his master's studies in Regina Maciūtė's singing class. in 1999 became actively involved in musical life, having successfully performed the role of Adina in G. Donizetti's opera "Elixir of Love". The singer has prepared 30 bright opera, operetta roles and oratorio parts. In 2002, he won a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which gave him the opportunity to perform and improve in this country. Later, he studied in the United States of America, France with one of the most famous professors of the Paris Conservatory, Peggy Boulevard. Also participated in the master classes of world-famous singers Katia Richiarelli and Ranata Scott. He performed a lot not only in Lithuania, but also in Sweden, France, Poland, Great Britain, Austria, and the USA.
The soloist of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater EDMUNDAS SEILIUS (tenor) graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (LMTA) prof. Vytautas Juozapaitis' singing class, obtained a master's degree. While still studying, in 1999 he made his debut as Nemorino in G. Donizetti's opera "Elixir of Love" and thus began his professional career on stage. More than 40 opera, operetta roles and oratorio parts have been prepared. Participated in master classes with world stars Katia Ricciarelli, Gaetano Bardini, Michael Paul, Robin Legatte, Ruta Schlegel, Pierre Vallet, Waldemar Wild. Successfully participated in TV projects: 2008 in the LTV musical project "Triumph Arch" (II place), 2010. together with the Marijampolė choir in the TV3 music project "Chorus Wars" (II place). in 2011 became a commission member of the latter project.
ELEONORA TAŠKINAITĖ (piano), graduated from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater (LMTA) prof. Halinas Radvilaitė and Assoc. In the classes of Irena Čiurilaitė, in 1988 he started his long-term work at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater (LNOBT). All Lithuanian opera stars were on her creative path, starting with V. Noreika, I. Milkevičiūte, V. Urmana, S. Larin, B. Almonaityte, B. Tamašauskas, V. Juozapaičius and other famous opera soloists and world stars who worked in the theater. The concertmaster's knowledge and skills, obtained in cooperation with legendary opera conductors such as J. Aleksa, R. Geniusu, S. Lano, G. Croci and many others, have made her irreplaceable in today's world of Lithuanian opera. The pianist's repertoire includes more than a hundred works of opera, operetta, oratorio genres, which were performed not only on Lithuanian stages, but also abroad.
