On the other hand, these paintings cannot be called comics, cartoons, illustrations or advertisements. In the duo's pictorial practice, the relationship between expressive, brutal painting and irony is important, and has been termed creepy figurativism. Catastrophe is conceived in the exhibition as the unpredictable effect of the painting's matter on the animated image, postulated in the philosopher Gilles Deleuze's Logic of the Senses, and in the analysis of the work of Francis Bacon.
