Panevėžys Musical Theater continues the tradition and invites you to celebrate the New Year with music. This time - with the public-loved musical theater wind orchestra "Garsas" and bright soloists of the young generation - Valerija Iljinaite from Panevėžys, who is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and Juoz Januž, soloist of the National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
The cheerful program will feature the most beautiful arias and duets from the repertoire of popular and classical music. The concert will not lack swinging rhythms, jazz improvisations, and works specially prepared for the festive program.
Valerija Iljinaitė is a Lithuanian lyric-dramatic soprano of Ukrainian origin, born and raised in Panevėžys. Valerija is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music with Marcus van den Akker and Janet Haney. in 2023 completed a Bachelor of Music at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, studied with Joan Rodgers CBE and was a Morag Noble Scholar. In the summer of 2023 debuted at Carnegie Hall, was awarded the James Adler Prize. She performed the role of 1st Lady in The Magic Flute with MOS in New York and participated in the MOS Gala Concert at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall. Valerija has won many awards and is the laureate of many international competitions. He performed with various orchestras, including the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, the Belarusian State Symphony Orchestra, etc. He also participated in various master courses, cooperation with prominent music professionals, and in 2019 she was invited to participate in the special inauguration concert of the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėdas.
Tenor Juozas Janužas learned his singing skills from professor Virgilijas Noreikas, Sigutė Stonytė, Vladimir Prudnikovas, and foreign pedagogues. Winner of many international singing competitions. He currently sings at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. He has prepared many roles, actively performs with various performers, choirs, wind and symphony orchestras.
Panevėžys Musical Theater Wind Orchestra "Garsas" (conductor Martynas Bražas) plays at celebrations, participates in festivals, conducts educational activities, organizes musical programs of various styles, performs with vocalists Monika Linkyte, Edgar Davidovičius, Laima Česlauskaite, Aiste Pilibavičiūtė, Dainot Varna, multi-instrumentalist Saulius Petreikiu and many others. In cooperation with young composers and arrangers, unique concert programs "Concert Boom", "Rock Legends", "Life in a Circle", "Freedom Calls", "Bridges of Music: Lithuania-Ukraine" and others have been prepared. The orchestra's stylish repertoire is played on stages, parks, song festival stages, churches and squares.
