On August 11, the colorful and luxurious parterre of the Palanga Amber Museum will be flooded with the sound of expertly performed music by Tango Piazzolla.
One of the most outstanding soloists of the Lithuanian Opera, Ieva Prudnikovaitė, and the "4Tango" ensemble invite you to a temperamental, unexpected musical rendezvous on the beach during the long Žoliniai weekend, which will take you to Latin America full of passion, sonorous rhythms and heat for one evening. The concert will feature the music of Astor Piazzolla, one of the most famous Argentinean composers and performers in South America, titled the king of tango.
Astor Piazzolla, who is called the innovator of traditional tango music, combined suggestive, sensual, soulful tango music with elements of classical and jazz music, thus creating the so-called "new tango" (tango nuevo). Thanks to this composer, the dance influenced by the tango revolution of the 20th century crossed the boundaries of the genre and conquered the big stages.
An extraordinary evening under the open sky, exclusively dedicated to the talent and music of A. Piazzolla, will be presented by Ieva Prudnikovaitė, a mezzo-soprano with a unique timbre and a gift of inner peace, lively temperament, and subtle elegance. Jēgas unites the performer with the bright "4Tango" ensemble, which in 2002 became the winner of the international competition "A. Piazzolla Music Award" in Italy as finalists.
"Tango came into my life unexpectedly, but it involved, developed and tamed - it became an integral part of my creative life. Astor Piazzolla's tango nuevo - layers of the female primal. Each song is like a mono-performance, broadcasting special sensuality, eroticism, bright, but at the same time subtle emotions" - says the performer I. Prudnikovaitė.
The musicians of the "4Tango" Collective are Kristina Žebrauskaitė (accordion), Feliksas Zakrevskis (piano), Birutė Bagdonienė (viola), Donatas Bagurskas (double bass). Violinist Džeraldas Bidva, concertmaster of the orchestra Kremerata Baltica and the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, and vibraphonist Andrius Rekašius (Vilnius–Lukas Budzinauskas) will give the concert an exceptional sound.
The concert will feature a program composed entirely of works by A. Piazzolla, recognizable from a distance and instantly loved.
