This year, "West Winds '24" becomes a unique dialogue between visual art and literature. New texts inspired by the artists' works and exhibited alongside the artworks by members of the Lithuanian Writers' Union create a profound connection between the artistic word and the image. The exhibition reveals the creative potential of the artists of Western Lithuania and encourages a new appreciation of the significance of individual creativity for our culture. The cycle of exhibitions is enriched by a special initiative of the gallery's guest "Drifts" from Vilnius, who presents a subtle and immersive exhibition by Linas Jablonskis, "Linas Jablonskis presents: Truman Capote", which invites you to explore the world of one of the most exceptional literary geniuses of the 20th century, as captured in the works of the Lithuanian artist. The colourful and controversial character of Truman Capote comes to life in Linas Jablonskis' watercolour and pencil drawings, like a documentary frame on a faded film. These small-format works reveal Capote's multifaceted personality and the New York milieu of his time, and at the same time, the artist's own reflection on the rebellious and ever-changing portrait of the human self. The exhibition will be on view at the KCCC Exhibition Hall (Didžioji Vandens g. 2, Klaipėda) until 15 December.
