The audience will be greeted by an unexpected duet on stage - the maestro will be joined by the composer, pianist Audrius Balsys, and together they will present the "Bagdonas songs" program. It will feature both old, fan-favorite and completely new songs, expertly decorated with arrangements by composer A. Balsis.
How those songs will sound now, what new colors they will acquire after the dust of time is blown off them, what today's Vladas Bagdonas writes and sings about - this is a secret that will be revealed only during the only concert in Vilnius, St. Catherine's Church.
Since the 1970s, Vladas Bagdonas has embodied legendary roles on the Lithuanian stage: Daukantas, Pirosmanis, Otela, Faust, Zorba, collaborated with directors: Dalia Tamulevičiūte, Jona Vaitkumi, Eimuntu Nekrošiumi. Music often went hand in hand with acting in his life: during his studies, later working with composers Vygantas Telksnias and Alvydas Jegelevičius. However, when talking about his musical performances, V. Bagdonas tends to be ironic: "I'm not a musician, I'm an artist playing a concert." in 2017 Maestro released a CD of original songs "Liekantiems buti", and in 2020 best songs album "Wood burning".
The "Bagdonas songs" program, which will bring two greats together on stage, will be a pleasant discovery for gourmets with musical tastes. The pieces played by the fingers of a professional pianist will add weight and color to the "Bagdonas" creation, and the Master's hypnotic, low voice will not leave anyone indifferent.
