"Duo FluPia" is a chamber ensemble of flutist Vilmantė Kaziulytė and pianist Kristina Ivanauskaitė. The romantic-sounding name, perhaps even associated with the clearness and beauty of the mountains, helps to fuse both instruments into soft, delicate and pure music.
In 2023, commemorating the ten-year anniversary of the ensemble, the performers decided to hold a celebratory concert, making it meaningful with the most expensive and heart-pounding works. The concert "Mosaic of a Decade" will feature the most memorable and precious musical opus of all creative activities or their parts, composed into a harmonious musical whole.
The members of "Duo FluPia" are pupils of a Lithuanian school. V. Kaziulytė studied at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theater, prof. Algirdos Vizgirdos (graduated in 2015), K. Ivanauskaitė - prof. in Aleksandra Žvirblytė's class (graduated in 2010). in 2019 V. Kaziulytė completed her master's studies at the Royal Brussels Conservatory, prof. Baudoin in the Giaux class. The young performers deepened their professionalism and broadened their horizons by participating in master courses of national and foreign teachers, international competitions in Lithuania and Western Europe. At the moment, the performers are doing pedagogical work, giving concerts, preparing for the wider spread of chamber music, refining the art of flute and piano performance, refining their unique interpretation.
Flutist V. Kaziulytė and pianist K. Ivanauskaitės started making music together in 2013. in 2014 the duo won 1st place in the international chamber ensemble competition "Music without borders" (Druskininkai) and in 2017 Won 1st place at the international Masters competition in Warsaw. 2015, 2018 and 2021 "Duo FluPia" was invited to participate in the international M. K. Čiurlionis music festival held in Vilnius and Palanga. The ensemble prepared programs: "Fields of Elysees..." (2014), "Flashes of Light" (2014), "Music Tastings" (2015), "M. K. Čiurlionis in our eyes" (2015), "Waiting for a miracle" (2016), "Duo FluPia" (2018), "Meditation", "Silent night" (2019), "Sincerely Konstantinui..." (2021). in 2021 a collection of preludes by M. K. Čiurlionis for flute and piano "Lakštingala" arranged by the performers themselves appeared. The duo has presented programs to the listeners of Anykščiai, Druskininkai, Šiauliai, Panevėžys, Kaunas, Vilnius and neighboring Warsaw. Music fans admired the performers' interpretations of works by various famous composers. Some opuses and some preludes by M. K. Čiurlionis arranged by the duo are also played in 2017. on the released CD of the ensemble "Duo FluPia".
