Walks with the guide and creator of the Vilnius Mood blog, Rita Peterson.
During the tours, you will get to know the past of Jonas Basanavičius Street (former Wielka Pohulianka), where the townspeople once had fun, and all possible cultural layers of the past will be revealed: architectural, historical and, of course, literary. The street remembers famous names: the French writer Romain Gary spent his childhood here, the legendary doctor Cemach Shabad, the philanthropist Juzef Montvila, the director of the Jewish Research Institute Max Weinraich lived here. And where else is the first Vilnius skyscraper, the first Lithuanian high school, the first Marriage Palace... We will also talk about theater and France! In the courtyards, we will look for signs linking France and Vilnius for almost a century. We will also take a look behind the scenes of the Vilnius old theater (J. Basanavičiaus str. 13). The tours, which will end with a discussion over a glass of wine with a wonderful view from the theater balcony, will take place on the eve of the "We - France" theater laboratory.
