The project "Gorsai gimtajam miestuis" is a creative evening of famous musicians from Panevėžys of various generations and representing different fields, dedicated to the 520th anniversary of the city of Panevėžys. The city can be proud of a large group of artists who grew up in Panevėžys and matured professionally, who reside in other regions of Lithuania or even in foreign countries and rarely return to their hometown. The artists who make their hometown famous in the country and the world are known to the residents of Panevėžys only in fragments, so the city's anniversary is a great opportunity to introduce them, get to know them and notice them.On the second creative evening, on September 7, theater visitors will get to know the well-known and appreciated composer, pedagogue, performer Laimius Vilkončius in Lithuania. "For me, this project is another opportunity to proudly admit that I come from Panevėžys without pretending to be the occasion. I may not be very creatively connected with my hometown, but when the city celebrated its 500th anniversary, "Ode to the City of Panevėžys" created by me together with Elena Mezginaite was performed on Freedom Square. It was an extraordinary event for me and for the city. I am happy that I will celebrate the 520th anniversary of the city in Panevėžys," shares L. Vilkončius. In the free creative evenings held at the beginning of September, theater visitors will have the opportunity not only to hear the concert program of the performers together with the musicians of the Panevėžys Musical Theater, but also to participate in engaging conversations, see previously unpublished moments from the musicians' personal archive and hear stories about the retrospective of their creative path.
