The M. K. Čiurlionis International Music Festival presents a special concert. On the occasion of the anniversary, the acclaimed Lithuanian composer of the young generation, Gediminas Gelgotas (b. 1986), will present a concert program specially created for the festival, "Ir tas kelias, kaip sapnas", in which his original work will be combined with interpretations and improvisations of the musical legacy of M.K. Čiurlionis.
A one-hour long composition will be performed by the New Ideas chamber orchestra NIKO - a string instrument group that constantly makes a name for itself abroad in Lithuania, known for its attractive and original performances, performing progressive classical music by heart, integrating the highest level of mastery of string instruments and minimalist visual stage effects into its performances. NIKO will be joined on stage by other recognized performers - National Prize laureate, saxophonist Petras Vyšniauskas, pianist, professor Aleksandra Žvirblytė and the Pro Musica choir.
