The main influences of MatīssČudars Trio's music are jazz, blues and country, organically merging and saturated with Latvian melodiousness and love for the worlds of African and Indian rhythms. Matīss's work in classical music, including a master's degree in composition he earned this year at Yale University, gives the trio's music a structure that often transcends the usual boundaries of jazz music.

Matīs Čudars Trio's debut album "Take Your Time" reveals an insight into the ensemble's creative process, which provides aesthetic pleasure and emotional comfort to the listener, leads them on a walk through various musical spaces and sometimes subtly presents a challenging mystery.

The trio's concert in the club "M/Darbnīca" in Riga in the summer of 2022 was awarded the "Best Concert" nomination at the 2022 Great Music Year Awards.
