Author's percussion solo concert by associate professor of the LMTA Jazz Department, Arkadius GotesmanThe solo composition for percussion was inspired by the instruments themselves. Graceful and almost imperceptible hand-playing with brooms and sticks that create the illusion of two dancing figures. During this process and play, a unique musical narrative is born - music for a non-existent ballet. For ballet that is created here and now. The text presents multinovelas about sounds."Lithuanian percussion landscape is unimaginable without Arkadius Gotesmans - one of the most creative and productive representatives of the jazz scene. Actually, not just jazz. Arkady's drive often takes him to the theater, poetry or cinema spaces. The creator, bubbling with new ideas, presents his latest project - "Music for a non-existent ballet".The solo chamber performance is a reflection of A. Gotesman's creative path, in which the composer Anatolojs Šenderovs, who had close relations with the ballet scene, the theater actors Oskars Koršunovas, Eimuntas Nekrošius, Adolfas Večerskis, etc., left extremely vivid impressions. However, in "Music for a non-existent ballet" A. Gotesaman transfers not only reminiscences about these friends, but also subtly reveals his love for poetry, and most importantly, his love for Vilnius. To the city that became the home of this percussion ace and the place where many of his and his friends' most memorable creations were born."Music for a non-existent ballet", containing A. Gotesman's personal experiences, is not a one-dimensional work. The drumsticks and brushes in the hands of the percussionist resemble the graceful movements of ballerinas. In the non-existent ballet, the dance floor of sticks and brushes becomes not the stage, but the surfaces of the percussion instruments, whose choreography of emitted sounds ignites the listener's imagination. A. Gotesmanas, instead of trying to give the listener a clear narrative, in his latest project invites you to soar on the wings of a freed fantasy and create your own personal ballet." - Vitalius Gailis. 2023.The event is free, you are welcome!
