Wagner's breathtaking masterpiece makes its triumphant return to the Metropolitan stage after a 17-year hiatus. Following the spectacular production of Parsifal, this new version of Lohengrin is directed by the French-Canadian François Girard, whose work masterfully combines a stunning visual style with breathtaking music. Metropolitan Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin will once again be at the conductor's helm, conducting an impressive ensemble of performers: Piotr Beczała will sing the mysterious Swan King, soprano Tamara Wilson will portray the falsely accused Countess Elsa, soprano Christine Goerke will portray the cunning sorceress Ortrud, and bass-baritone Evgeny Nikitin will portray Ortrud's husband, Telramundas.
