„Ward no.4” is a brand new quartet of Vilnius based Lithuanian improvisers made their debut at "Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival". The band was formed by initiative of saxophonist Liudas Mockūnas. All four met around 2018 at the Lithuanian Music Academy where Mockunas and Mikalkenas are leading classes at the Contemporary and Improvised Music Master’s program while Kurtinaitis and Kaupinis were studying with them. A former teacher’s–student collective naturally grew up into a tandem of colleagues which shares a common music language and aesthetics based on deep listening. A low frequency vibration created by tubas and maybe by bass saxophone supported by prepared piano and percussion will lead you through various strange sounding - sometimes calm, 
sometimes super energetic soundscapes.
