Series of events "Preserved Harmonies in the 20th Century" with musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis and listening to recordings. This time we meet the music of Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) and his controversial life story.
Laughing at everybody, his work has flown through many centuries (from the Renaissance to the second half of the 20th century) and countries (from Russia to the USA), never finding a true and solid spiritual haven. But he kept repeating, "I live neither in the past nor in the future. I am in the present". He tried out all styles and techniques of 20th century music, from idolatry to the avant-garde. And along the way, he produced so many incredibly different masterpieces that he will forever remain one of the greatest composers of all time. A "master of the craft of music" and a "poet of order".
We will be able to delve into this topic with Viktoras Gerulaitis, listen to the musical testimonies of this dramatic period, and maybe even discuss these issues, which are still relevant, in the project of the Music Magic Club, "Preserved Harmonies of the 20th Century".
