Folklore festivals
Folklore is more than music. It is part of our entire cultural, historical and social identity. Folk music has more than just rhythm and lyrics. Each work is the matured and accumulated experience of many centuries, expressed through the purest depths of the soul. It is for this reason that folklore festivals usually take place in nature, where participants and performers dress in national clothes, old traditions are followed, and inspiration is drawn from the past.
It is true that there is also a strong neo-folk culture, when musical works interwoven with national motifs turn into rock or even dance music works. Folklore festivals in Lithuania aim to show everyone the best that our ancestors created and collected. Folklore festivals are useful not only for those who love this music and this branch of culture. It is worth visiting here for all Lithuanians who want to get to know their soul, origin, and environment better.
There are quite a few such festivals in Lithuania. You can find information about all of them online, on the Pickvibe platform.
