Having drunk from the Italian sun of Puglia, local delicacies and the sweetness of oranges, Lukas Pilkauskas announces the birth of his new album "Ciao Ciao".
Lukas, who spends his days alone in the warm south, bathing not only in the sea, but also in his creativity, wants to convey the feeling of living in Italy, which is like a sun that never stops shining all year round, through the new album. "Warmth, long days, dolce far niente - these things, like summer, I miss very much in Lithuania after a long, dark winter that lasts at least half a year. With the songs of "Ciao Ciao" I will try to convey the Italian aesthetics of the 1970s-80s, with a bit of Lithuanian slang thrown in. The result is a white medley, but with olive oil and anchovies," laughs Lukas.
Italituano is the one word he uses to describe his new work. Some of the new songs were written about love, imagining that they could be performed by Italian muses. While the muses are waiting, the audience is not - the first album launch concert in Vilnius with a live band will take place under the green leaves at Downtown Forest on 5 June. The usual quality and unexpected sounds await: tracks from the new album will be played, but the ears and eyes will also be treated to Luke's earlier slagers ("Sodų Dainos", "Greetings from Sorrento" and others). Kipras Pugačiukas will play bass guitar, Augustas Baronas will play drums, and Mantas Joneikis will play keyboards and guitar.
"I've been cooped up for half a year playing on my laptop at home, so I'm really keen to finally bring the songs from the album live and in concert format," says Lukas Pilkauskas, who is already packing up and heading back to Lithuania in his colourful shorts.
