Everyone has probably felt uncomfortable in front of their friends, grandparents or other people at least once when reading a poem, singing a song or telling a story. Sometimes it's so overwhelming that you just have to tap your foot and say - "I can't, I don't want to, I can't do anything!".
The performance of the clown duo Zi and Pau is just the right thing for anyone who has ever had that feeling. In this gripping story, Ži and Pau will help you realise that there is nothing to worry about: we are all unique just as we are. Someone can sing, someone can dance, someone can stand on their head, and someone can do something else that's not like any of these. It's all worth five seconds of fame, and a true friend will always lend a hand to encourage you to get up on your stage. After all, you are quite enough and special just as you are!
Told in a lively, sensitive and expressive clown form, the story touches on deep and meaningful themes with openness and lightness, using elements of physical theatre, acrobatics, magic, and an immediate rapport with the audience.
What will we talk about?
- Uniqueness and otherness. Often, when we realise that we are different from everyone else (taller, shorter, faster or slower, curly or straight), we want to change, to identify ourselves, so that no-one will notice our differences and we forget that our difference can be an asset. The characters in the play realise that only by daring to empower one's peculiarities does one become the best version of oneself. This is the message we invite the audience to take away!
- About empathy and respect for the other. The play powerfully presents the possible differences between people, revealing the power and benefits of difference, thus encouraging not only pride in one's own uniqueness, but also respect and empathy for others who are not necessarily the same as us.
What will we do?
- We will take our shoes off. Get your favourite socks ready - at the Home Theatre, shoes stay outside the theatre.
- We will laugh, clap and if we want to, cry, but we won't disturb the enjoyment of the performance by talking and sharing our impressions after it is over.
- We will take photographs and film after the performance, not during.
