As part of the "Japanese Days in Kaunas WA" series of events, an afternoon of Japanese cinema and the anime film "5 centimetres per second". The works of Shinkai Makoto, one of the most famous Japanese anime directors, are already somewhat familiar to Lithuanian viewers, including the film "Your Name", which broke popularity records in Japan, as well as the anime films "Air Mergaitė Orų mergaitė", "Ten za debesų" and "Suzume", which have been shown in Lithuania. Shinkai focuses on the relationships between the characters and uses fantasy elements as a backdrop. The animated film "5 centimetres per second", which has already been screened at the festival, is back again. "5 centimetres per second is a three-part story about how best friends Takakis and Akari are forced to split up after finishing primary school. The two youngsters correspond romantically until finally, one winter day, Takakis gets on a train and goes to meet Akari. Sitting on the train, memories of the past come flooding back, and the meeting with Akari gets closer by the second.
