After almost 30 years of reconstruction works, the Sapiegas Palace in Antakalnis, which has a history of more than 300 years, has reopened its doors to visitors. It was commissioned by Kazimieras Jonas Sapiega, one of Lithuania's richest, most influential and perhaps most ambitious noblemen of his time. When he became the Grand Hetman of the LDK army, he had no intention of stopping there, and even aimed for the highest throne - the throne of the King of the ATR, so he arranged the Antakalnis residence in a royal way! Moreover, the space in front of the palace was decorated with a magnificent baroque park, and next to it was the dome of the Church of the Saviour, under which the Trinitarian brothers prayed for the Sapiegas family and for our country. Unfortunately, the ruthless winds of history from the east have ravaged the complex for years. Today, it is once again majestic, alive and open to the creativity and needs of 21st century man - that is, us! During the tour we will visit everything that can be seen in Sapiegas Antakalnis: the park with its impressive gates, the church of extraordinary beauty, and of course the palace itself.
