The Romuva Cinema Centre invites young film lovers to a summer adventure! Two camps will take place from June to July, where participants will have the opportunity to get to know the world of cinema better through games, lessons and film screenings.
The camps will feature animation workshops where young filmmakers will create animated films using freeze-frame techniques. They will learn about the old optical devices that create the illusion of cinema, such as the praxiscope, the phenakistoscope and others, and create their own thaumatrope. Participants will be able to see cinema spaces they have never seen before - the camera room from which films are shown on the big screen and the inside of the tower, beloved by Romuva visitors.
This summer, the camps will also have some exciting news: for the first time, participants will have the opportunity to try out the synchronous noise workshop, where they will learn about the world of sound and how the sounds we hear in our everyday lives can be reproduced by the most unexpected means. Another new addition to the camp is the camera and lights workshop!
The cinema camp will also feature films, including: "Little Nikolia Tells of Happiness" (dir. Amandine Fredon, Benjamin Massoubre, 2022), "Who's Finn?! A Summer of Adventure" (dir. Stefan Westerwelle, 2023), "Ernest and Celestine: A Journey to Charadia" (dir. Julien Chheng, Jean-Christophe Roger, 2022).
